ALDI Verona Piazza Cittadella — Local services in Verona

I struggled to understand the text on some of the foods, so I used my phone for Google Translator. The security guy started following me and looking at me with suspicion. I tried to explain what I was doing, and he was kind to point me to the right counter. After I paid for my shopping, I realised I had forgotten something and went back. I used the self checkout, and the security guy stopped me and started going through the things I already paid for the first time. He picked one of the items and, from what I could understand, was trying to blame me for shoplifting. I showed him the receipt, but he insisted the item was not on it. We couldn't understand each other as I didn't speak Italian and he didn't speak English, but I felt very humiliated as everyone in the shop was looking at me suspiciously. It is a nice place to do your grocery shopping since the prices of the products are less than the other places and this is one of the only supermarkets that produces some particular types of bread with olive and nuts. (highly recommended)

The disadvantage of this place could be the security staff and I am not the only one having this opinion. Busy little grocery/supermarket, just at the SSE of Piazza Erbe. Good selection of produce and all the other items you may need for your stay. Usual Aldi selection of power tools /automotive supplies so if you feel the need to build or repair something, Aldi has you covered! Checkout fast and friendly but check times to see when it's less busy, products are plentiful but narrower isles make it a bit of a challenge, but not much different to most stores in the older buildings in these ancient cities. Pricewise seems more than competitive with the others, PAM/Conad/Migross/etc, but booze selection does seem wider...
