La Goletta — Restaurant in Vieste

I would have loved to write a positive review. The quality of the food was good, the service was decent, and atmosphere was really nice. Unfortunately, it was spoilt by an exorbitant charge for my wife's main course (grilled fish of the day). At 66 euro, that was more than 4 times as much as the most expensive main course on the menu. For comparison. the previous night we ate at the much fancier Acqua restaurant, where a full 6 course menu of sophisticated dishes runs for 65 euro. And here 66 euro for a single grilled fish main course. When I pointed out to the waiter that it is not really correct to charge such an expensive course without warning the customer, he proceeded to show me the menu that listed '5 euro per 100g' for 'fish of the day' and told me the fish had been 1.2kg. That may be (the fish was large) but nobody asked them to prepare such a big fish for a single person. And if they had no smaller fish to prepare, they still should have notified us that the prize would have been so exorbitant. It's really a pity because it spoilt an otherwise nice dinner and left me feeling...

Gastronomie auf höchstem Niveau. Die Bedienung entspricht der ‚guten alten Schule‘. Da ich selber ursprünglich aus der Gastronomie meine erste Lehre abgeschlossen habe, war das wie ein deja-vue. Wirklich toll. Für ein ‚Hafenrestaurant‘ wirklich gut gepflegt, mit Stofftischtüchern, Stoffservietten und kleinen Lämpchen für die Stimmung am Tisch. Der Chef-de-rang bildet gerade Lehrlinge aus und ich denke, er macht das hervorragend. Das Restaurant besticht mit der Lage direkt am Hafen und bietet eine wunderbare Szenerie. Wir wurden sogleich nachdem wir Platz genommen hatten, mit einem frischen, selbst-gemachten, italienischen, Laib Brot (geschätzt 300gr) verwöhnt. Die Speisen welche aufgetragen wurden, gründen einem etwas anderem Verständnis der Italienischen Küche indem der Koch die Gerichte etwas experimentierfreudiger aufbereitet. Allerdings dürfte das Essen für meinen Geschmack etwas mehr Pep haben. Die Beratung bezüglich Wein war ausgezeichnet und so bekamen wir auch genau den Wein, der uns am besten schmeckte, obwohl wir nur Gläser und keine ganze Flasche bestellten. Fazit: Ich komme gerne wieder um weitere Leckereien aus der Karte...

Vale 4.3 - location sul porto turistico di Vieste con panorama su parte della cittadina . Tavoli esterni sotto un porticato moderno. Locale interno piccolo come la toilette. Personale cortese e disponibile. Menu presenta alcune portate interessanti e saporite (zuppa fagioli cereali e gamberi oppure i cicatelli pesce spada datterini capperi e germogli finocchio o il calamaro ripieno). Altre non riuscite perfettamente o almeno di gusto semplice. Es. le polpette patate e baccalà su cipolla di Tropea è utilizzata troppa patata che cosi nasconde il sapore del baccalà, una correzione del rapporto renderebbe questa portata molto superiore. Oppure lo spaghettone pomodoro basilico e stracciatella , lo chef abbonda troppo con il pomodoro che non esalta il gusto del basilico e della stracciatella. Dolci buoni. Prezzi un pizzico alti (83euro)dopo averli raffrontati con lo stesso numero di portate di una cena della sera prima al Trabucco da Mimì ( livello top di 92 euro- 2 primi 2 antipasti 1 dolce 1 acqua 1 caffe). CONSIGLIATO LIVELLO BUONO ma senza aspettative di una cena...
