We traveled to Volterra as a group of 8 friends for a bachelor party in August 2020. We went for the Degustazione and the experience was simply gorgeous. We were a little bit late due to the dense schedule, but Massimo told us that the tasting room was all for us and not to worry about the half an hour delay. He spent a good 90' with us, teaching us the basics of wine tasting and giving us a structured tasting experience (based mainly on direct comparison between wines) on regional white wines first, and red wines afterwards. His enthusiams and availability to reply all sort of naïve questions we had was an amazing highlight of our time in Volterra. We had the wine tasting in italian, as we are native italian speakers. The day after we were so pleased by the wines we tasted that we gladly bought many of them. This guy knows wine and is suspicious of trends. He's eager to convince guests of the qualities of certain local wines and brought us an extra bottle for a tasting.
