Porgi l'altra Pancia — Restaurant in Volterra

I left the restaurant angry. Food: we ordered two picis (garlic & tomato and cacio e pepe with trufle). It was average, not bad, but overall probably the lowest ranked from among 10+ pastas we had during stay in Tuscany. Service: unacceptable. The waiter served wrong dish, once we complained, he went to the other table, switched the dishes and brought the right one. We did see though that the lady who got our dish started working on it. We didn’t see that she eat it, but the past was moved on the plate and the fork was on the side, not on the table. Complained again, the waiter denied claiming it’s all okay and the lady did not touch the food. He was rude and raised his voice to respond to our complaint. His attitude was really bad, he did a mistake and did not even say sorry, instead of it, started arguing and made an impression that he is totally right. Atmosphere: below average. Bad taste of music, and plastic grapes hanging from the ceiling - disappointment after positive impression when walking by the restaurant. Overall I only wish we had not paid for the messed up dish. Totally not recommended, because of the taste...

Terribile esperienza! Arriviamo in questo locale che nonostante un menù non proprio invitante, anzi che già lascia presagire una cucina piuttosto turistica, a partire dal menù plastificato e dai piatti su esso presenti. Il locale è comunque caratteristico, grazie a tutte quelle bottiglie di vino esposte che gli da l'aspetto di una ben fornita enoteca, ed ai grappoli d'uva e foglie di vite sopra il soffitto.  Bottiglie di vino tutte impolverate che ti dicono già quale igiene e pulizia ci possa essere. I tavoli sono talmente attaccati alle bottiglie esposte che si corre il rischio di fare danni. Il danno invece è stato scegliere questo locale. Arrivano i paccheri con pesto di sedano, e nocciol, ma erano stracotti,  tutti incollati uno all'altro.. il pesto di sedano non era altro che sedano tritato, senza olio, parmigiano, pinoli.. altro che pesto... con un aspetto orribile ed un sapore peggio. Abbiamo preso quel pacchero in due ed entrambi lo abbiamo mandato indietro. Ci è stato risposto che il pacchero non era scotto ma che era così perché fatto di pasta all'uovo! Da quando il pacchero è pasta all'uovo?! Nonostante le arrancate motivazioni della cucina abbiamo ordinato altri piatti ed è arrivato un tagliolino al tartufo che era anche lui stracotto e navigava nel burro! Il tartufo da due soldi che hanno utilizzato non aveva né profumo né sapore e costava 15€!!! La polenta ai funghi era una poltiglia ricoperta di olio scadente. Nonostante tutte le rimostranze la maleducata signora non ha tolto un solo euro dal conto e al mio presentarmi con qualifica di chef ha avuto pure l'ardire di rispondere:"eh si, siamo tutti chef"! Beh cara signora, io lo sono di sicuro, ma non posso essere sicura dopo aver provato la sua cucina, che lei lo sia . Unica nota positiva il cameriere che almeno si è prodigato a cercare di rimediare al pranzo ignobile ed alla maleducazione della signora, offrendoci i caffè. Ovvio che 4 caffè ed un amaro di fronte a 76€ che abbiamo buttato in questo locale non sono nulla, ma abbiamo comunque apprezzato il gesto...

I dont know what to say other than it was amazing. We came in exactly as they were opening up in the evening, and it was wonderful. The staff was friendly and quick. The atmosphere is very nice and calm. But the best part was the food. The pasta here is incredible. I just loved it. We even ordered the pasta a second time around because we couldn't get enough. It is freshly made, and you can even watch the whole process behind the counter and talk to the wonderful lady preparing the food! It is amazing here.
