Ristorante Etruria — Restaurant in Volterra

If you have allergies, intolerances or you want to replace an item on your pizza, you’ll be paying a huge surcharge. Our pizzas ended up costing 21€ and 19€ after we asked to replace cheese and meat with more vegetables, furthermore I can’t eat tomatoes so I didn’t even have sauce on my pizza. These substitutes were seen as extras instead of replacements. I have not experienced this anywhere in Europe, huge disappointment.

My reply to the owner's response :) Yes, we added ingredients. But we also took MANY ingredients off your original "recipe", because we don't eat animal products like meat, cheese and I also can't eat tomatoes (including sauces, hence i ordered pizza bianca). So why didn't you deduct 2€ for each of the items we took off? Be fair to your customers, maybe then you won't receive...

Yesterday after a diner elsewhere we past by this restaurant and talked to one of the waiters, a nice young men. We talk briefly about this odd Corona year. He called it a lost year and I sadly agreed with that. We promised to come back for dinner this evening and we did. It surely was not al lost evening. We had a nice diner served by a friendly staff. Good food with a good bottle of Tuscan wine! After we payed the more than reasonable bill, we walked over the square towards to our hotel and somebody called us. It was the young waiter who thanked us and gave us a small bottle of Cianti wine. What I nice gesture! This will be a good memory of our visit to Volterra. Thank you and...

What a surprise …. We just walked by , looked at the menu and we make a reservation for after our walk trough this beautiful village ….. when we came back and get a seat we get a little bubble for welcoming . And it was really nice …. Then the starter came and we had steak tartare ( really good seasoning !) and we had an carpaccio who was also very nice . Than we all steak . The ladies with mushrooms ( little but too much mushrooms ) and my husband the normal version with rucola and Parmesan both types the meat was perfect. And at the site some vegetables and fries . The staff was very nice and correct . We will come back...
