A good restaurant to be really disappointed on the last evening of your holiday. Even before our food came there was an intense smell of gas at our table. To our surprise, salad, antipasti and primi plati came at the same time, making it impossible to get the main course together. The service was uncoordinated, the food served carelessly, if you can even speak of serving, and the vegetable pizza was topped with leftover vegetables. The carbonara was the first low point of the menu. The egg was partly still raw, partly like scrambled eggs. The crowning glory of this culinary trip to hell was the Kilo T-Bone Steak. We weren't asked about the degree of doneness, so everything was included. The meat was seared on both sides, but not before or after. Accordingly, it was about 2mm cold on the outside and completely raw, not even rare anymore, but rather roasted in an English way. It was not carved at the table, but in a corner of the inner courtyard, without presenting the meat to us. The tranches weren't cut correctly, the meat was only cut so that it cooled down even more quickly. A handful of potatoes were brought as an accompaniment, soaked in fat but unsalted and returned cold to us. The steak was good for the quality of the meat, just remarkably well prepared and carved. I would advise against eating here unless you like bad food at...
Read moreThey accommodated our party of 14 at the last minute with grace and good nature. They have a smallish downstairs room, a larger upstairs room, and some cozy more private tables tucked away outside in a little picturesque alley. The menu is large, with many selections--pasta, pizza, bistecca alla Fiorentina, salads. . . The stuffed mussels (cozze ripiene) were delicious, as was the pear, gorgonzola, and walnut salad. The let us divide the check individually as we left, with no complaint whatsoever, and the staff were very cheerful and helpful with the chaos of serving 14 very different people, with widely varying appetites and...
Read moreService was nice and staff friendly. But the taste and quality of the food was below average. We had seven different meals: pizza, pasta, meat. Generally we all found, the food was far too fatty. For example the carbonara, the gnocchi with cheese and the pizza topping. My rabbit sauce papadelle were far to soft and I’m not sure if they were actually freshly mad. In my personal opinion the tasted heated up. The pizza was absolutely average. The dough bit hard and not fluffy at all. Unfortunately definitly no place which I can recommend for the food. But the Ambiente is very nice and they have a...
