Volaterra — Restaurant in Volterra

We are a couple of Americans who speak practically zero Italian, but had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The brothers who run it treated us well, were very patient, and spoke enough English to help us out. The lasagna was spectacular. I also had bottle of red wine that is simply the best wine I think I've ever enjoyed. Wifey and I split a dessert -- a cheesecake with chocolate topping. It was served in a glass cup (I've never seen cheesecake served this way) and was divine. ...

Ci siamo recati in questo posto fidandoci delle recensioni. Arrivati li, all'interno del locale faceva caldo e siamo stati costretti a stare fuori dove c'erano 4 tavolini sulla strada, dove ogni tanto passavano macchine e per i bambini é stato un problema. Abbiamo chiesto un tagliere per 4 abbondante misto come le foto di internet, ed é arrivato un unico piatto piccolo di 26 euro che non é bastato a nessuno. Un "assaggio" di Bolgheri a 7 euro a bicchiere, acqua. Nella vetrina gastronomica c'erano poche cose e secche di chissa quando, che non ispiravano affatto. Avevamo fame dopo il taglierino, per cui ci viene proposta una sola tagliata al lardo perché l'ultima che avevano alle ore 21, costata 20 €. Accanto c'erano 5 spicchiettini di patata al forno secca e cotta male al modico prezzo di 15€!! Assurdo!! Totale 78 euro. Penso che i prezzi siano altissimi, non ne vale proprio la pena. É vero che gli affettati erano saporiti ma per un antipastino e una sola tagliata 80 euro stiamo esagerando davvero. Dopo siamo rimasti affamati ed era chiuso pure il paninaro. Cosí facendo si perdono i clienti. Io non ci tornerei...
