I had their cheeseburger and ice latte combo, and it was seriously good—fresh and flavorful. Open since 1952, the owner, 96 years old, is still working here and served me coffee personally. You can literally feel the soul of this place with all the senses. Even ignoring the atmosphere the quality of their food and coffee is superb even when it doesn't need to be. So much pride and vitality in this place, a true blessing to be able to experience it still after all...

1952年創業の老舗喫茶店。 店名の「ボンネット」は、ヨーロッパの伝統的な女性用帽子を指し、女性が入りやすい店を目指して名付けられた。車の「ボンネット」ではない。この喫茶店は、マクドナルドが日本に進出する20年前から提供していたハンバーガーが有名。三島由紀夫のお気に入りでもあったこのハンバーガーは、ジューシーなパティにレタスとオニオンが別添えされており、好みに合わせて自分で挟んで楽しむスタイル。店内は昭和レトロな雰囲気が漂い、レトロな家具やジャズが流れる独特の空間で、多くの文人や著名人を惹きつけてきた。創業者の増田さんは現在95才で、今もお店で働いている。いつまでも残しておきたいお店だ。
