Nanbankan — Restaurant in Beppu

This place is amazing. It was quiet, food delicious, wagyu cooked to perfection. The meat was just perfect, as you read or hear about it . It wasn’t our first wagyu but it was the best complete meal. Miso soup, pickled vegetables, salad, rice, sauces. Everything tasty with complex and balanced flavors. But that wasn’t everything. That would all be enough for a perfect score. But this is Beppu what is unmatched is their hospitality there is a monument right next to the Beppu Station and it’s written there "Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers". It is true not only for this place but for all Beppu!

Chef came to chat with us. Where are we from etc. He brought us some tempura chicken. Complimentary. When he learned we came to Japan to celebrate our marriage he was so happy. Went back and brought us each a glass of sake. But wait - there is more! When we come to pay for the dinner. We complimented the sake. 2024年8月最後の土曜日に訪問 こちらに、別府へ訪れてた際、利用した宿が泊食分離という事で、夕食を求めての利用でした。 国道沿いは比較的遅くまで開いている飲食店もありますが、別府全般的に早く閉店するお店が多い印象でした。こちらのお店も20時半までの営業で、来店は19時半過ぎということもあり、最初に閉店時間を告げられ、。　当方、食だけのつもりなので時間的には問題なしということで利用させていただきました。 看板もふるく暗がりでみると、一見住宅か見間違える感じはありましたが、店内に入ると4人掛けのテーブルが4卓あり、立派に営業されているお店です。 今回は、ハンバーグとステーキ丼をいただきました。ハンバーグは、お味幾つかあり、南蛮ハンバーグ230gをご飯セットでいただきました。こちらのハンバーグは、見た目に反して肉肉しくてジューシーと言うよりは、何か懐かしさを感じさせるもので、柔らかくふわふわした食感を楽しめます。ソースは南蛮ハンバーグということで、タルタルがたっぷりかかっていました！　味噌汁も揚げ、こんにゃく、椎茸としっかりと具が入っており好印象です。ステーキ丼は、最小の120gで、ご飯も少な目にしていただきました。 こちは、ステーキ丼そのものにしそ風味の味がつけられており、付属の薬味を使わなくても十分に美味しくいただけます。さらに、薬味や卵黄で味変も楽しめていい感じです。決してコスパは良いと言えないかもですが、十分納得できる味とお値段だと思います。一つ難点をあげるとしたら、入口の扉が重たいことぐらいかな・・・笑 予約無しに突然の訪問でしたが、良いお店に出逢えたと思いま...
