Conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but when you order (via a tablet which has english and chinese), they bring you your sushi in person rather than via the conveyor belt. Green tea is self-serve with the powder and hot water by the seats. Miso soup and cold water is self serve by the entrance.
There are a few options for vegetarians and non raw fish eatets, but not many. Miso soup: surprisingly quite nice, I ended up having 2 bowls.
I ordered the panna cotta, and it was ok. I liked the pudding part but wasn't a fan of the sauce as it was too bitter.
I don't eat raw fish, but my partner ordered the fatty tuna, and it looked super nice. The tuna was a large piece, thick and looked really high quality (it looked like wagyu) - it was such a large piece that the rice in comparison looked extra small even though it was a normal portion size.
My partner really enjoyed it and said it was very good quality and given the price, it was fantastic and he would come back again.
We went for lunch (around 11:30) and when we went, there was already a massive queue. You put your name on a sheet, each sheet has 2 columns, and when we went, we were on the 4th sheet. It takes roughly 30 minutes for each sheet, so in total, we waited around 2-3 hours. You can go away and come back, but try not to...
Read moreKamesho Kurukuru Sushi in Beppu is a popular spot, and it’s easy to see why. When I first arrived, the line was so long I had to come back about two hours later—but it was an interesting experience.

The dishes were good—fresh and satisfying—but I would say they aren’t quite at the level of some omakase sushi experiences I’ve had elsewhere. (To be fair, after tasting premium omakase, my expectations might be a bit different.)
That said, for the reasonable price points and the casual, lively atmosphere, it’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a fun and affordable sushi experience in Beppu.
No wonder the place attracts such...
Read moreI found the food to be quite disappointing! I completely don’t understand why people wait for hours to eat at this restaurant. The sushi was merely a bit larger than average, and while they offered complimentary soup, the overall experience was nothing beyond ordinary. Shrimp had no taste, soup just very regular, all other sushi very ordinary, sashimi rick bowl, don’t order, a bit expensive and not worth the price, many out of stock. I can’t say the food was delicious; it felt totally overrated!
If you're just looking to fill your stomach, the service and friendly staff are nice, but the food itself is lacking. Overall, the dining experience was just regularly average. If you had to wait for a long time, you would expect the food to be exceptional;...
