We have traveled to Japan a few times before but since my husband is not really a ramen person, it was a priority when it came to food. A few years ago, my husband started appreciating noodle soups so the kids were able to get him interested in ramen. We visited Fukuoka last year and our daughter insisted that we try Shin shin an. Luckily, there was one near our hotel. I didn't expect much but it was good and my family really liked it. Plus the prices were also reasonable. So in our most recent trip to Japan, my husband was excited to eat in Shin Shin again but our first stop was Osaka. We tried a recommended ramen place there. There was a wait and we were looking forward to it but it was quite a let down. So my husband decided his next ramen will only be Shin Shin. So when we were in fukuoka, we set a date for our visit and we were not disappointed. I don't remember the ramen being so oishi but it was yummy. The noodles were firm but chewy. The soup was a little thick and the green onions were just so good with it. We also had the fried rice and the stir fried hormones, what can I say, that was the translation. It was also good but you need to share the hormones, which looked like pork intestines. It can be too fatty especially with the salty sweet sauce. We went to the restaurant around 9pm thinking there would be less people. There was still a line but it was not...

Casual ramen restaurant. Very limited selection. The portions were a sufficient size overall although the ratio of noodles to other ingredients was too much and I could not finish the noodles. The broth was delicious. Service was quick and seating options were great as they had 4 seat, 2 seat and bar seating options. Very affordable but if you want want a larger selection of ramen, this might not be the...

This is some of the best ramen on offer in all of Japan. I had the Hakata style ramen with an egg. The soup base is excellent: not too heavy or oily, with an amazing flavor and aroma. The noodles (orders バリカタ- extra hard) were great. The pork belly was amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Also shared a side of gyoza which were great. Worth the trip to Fukuoka just...
