We stayed for 5 nights, 2 rooms were booked. Here’s a mixed review of the hotel based on your experience:
Pros:
• Excellent Location: The hotel is ideally situated for experiencing local culture, with yatai (street food stalls) right underneath, the Anpanman Museum Mall directly opposite, and the popular Tenjin shopping area just a 10-minute walk across the Naka River. • Breakfast & Perks: The hotel offers a decent breakfast, and as a nice touch, they provide tokens that can be used for desserts and tea during an afternoon break. Would say that the food standard is pretty good !
Cons:
• Poor Lighting: The room’s lighting is poorly designed, with harsh spotlights that are not well-distributed, making the space uncomfortable, especially at night. The bedside lamp is overly bright and shines directly into your eyes, adding to the discomfort. • Inconvenient Bathroom Setup: The bathroom door is transparent, and the main door leading to the bathroom area doesn’t have a lock, which could be an issue for privacy. • Dusty Rooms: The rooms are quite dusty, with the dust being particularly noticeable due to the harsh spotlights, making the environment less pleasant. • Limited Service: The hotel offers minimal service, such as requiring guests to retrieve their own towels from the counter. When you requested assistance with booking a restaurant, the staff refused, citing hotel policy, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. She unwillingly helped after we insisted we needed assistance. The restaurant male waitresses are more bothered that the tables aren’t straight than making the patrons happy with fast clearing of tables and greeting us with a happy face during breakfast. They are good at their job focusing on delivering the breakfast, lacking in service as they don’t greet you with a smile nor you feel happy eating in the hotel as everyone is very stern looking. • Small Check-in Area: The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and the check-in counter is extremely small, with no proper seating area. Guests are forced to sit in the café lounge, which is inconvenient. • Inconvenient Token System: While the token system for food is a nice gesture, carrying a large number of tokens, especially when traveling with a family, was inconvenient. A more efficient system would be appreciated. • Frustrating Parking Situation: The designated hotel parking is an 8-minute walk away, which is frustrating, especially since there’s a parking facility right downstairs that doesn’t belong to the hotel.

Read moreI booked a standard double room. Since the child is 15 months old, due to the hotel's policy, they will not provide a crib.
I originally expected the room to be smaller in size, but I didn‘t expect that the space would actually be smaller. A 28-inch suitcase must not be placed flat in any passageway in the room.
The room configuration flexibility is very low. For example:
1)The bedside lamp cannot be turned on and off independently, which is impossible when you just want to turn on a small lamp for reading by the bed. Both light switches turned on the ceiling lights for the entire room.
3)There were no plates or shelves for small items in the toilet or washbasin. This is very inconvenient.
4)Check in if you are celebrating an anniversary or birthday. You inform the hotel in advance and they will only give you a congratulations card and an origami item. If you need extra cakes, you need to inform them two or three days before check-in. When I was traveling, I forgot to inform them that I needed to order cakes. Looking back on this policy, it was a very poor experience for my stay.
5)The breakfast options were sparse and I found the waiters in the restaurant to be unfriendly and a bit disengaged. They seemed to be more intoxicated talking to colleagues than working.
Overall, all public facilities are average and the place is not as big and spacious as expected. This is very different from the photos I saw on the official website. Finally, since I am traveling by car, the hotel does not have a parking lot. The nearest parking lot requires a 10 to 15-minute walk. Although the hotel offers discounts, the parking lot they recommended was fully booked around the clock during the two days I stayed. The street parking spaces I found near the hotel were also...
Read moreWe picked this brand because we had a pleasant stay in their branch at Sapporo.
This Fukuoka branch has a prime location, few minutes walk away from subway.
The hygiene is questionable however , as we enter the room, we find an ant on the bed.
we decided to checkout the bath, so took out the bathrobe and there is hair on it. Staff is effective to help us replace them.
Already two inconveniences. but the biggest would be on the bedsheets, taking away the blanket reveals very disgusting stains.
at least the staff were quick to react and effective, polite, helped us changed all the sheets and blankets and pillow covers right away.
in addition, the youtube tv play would not work until the staff come help us reset the tv.
Just some thoughts, when i went out in the morning, I hear cleaning ladies speaking (pearhaps south east asian dialect) inside other open rooms when they clean. The low quality of room tidiness could be contributed by, too many outsourced cheap foreign labour. What happened to good ol top quality Japanese hospitality? The Japan i know is down to the minute details, the ant and the hair on robe, i’ll give it a pass, but the stain on the bedsheet is really unacceptable.
when i returned to the room after a day out, the TV screen shows the cleaning schedule and room cleaning status. which is definitely for internal use and should not be seen for the customers. just showing how lousy the staff at this hotel is.
i will not recommend this hotel to my family...
