Read moreIt was my first time eating at a Filipino restaurant in Fukuoka. The interior made me feel like I was back in the Philippines, with the use of banana leaf placemats adding a nice traditional touch. It reminded me of one of my fave restos around the University belt. Here are my thoughts with the food I had for lunch:
The sisig had the perfect balance of crispy and tender pork bits. The runny egg on top added richness to the dish. A squeeze of lemon brightened up the flavor. A must-try if you’re looking for a savory, hearty meal.
The classic noodle dish, palabok, did not disappoint my taste buds. The palabok sauce was flavorful, with a good balance of shrimp and pork cracklings that added texture. The hard-boiled eggs and shrimp on top were perfectly cooked.
Halo-halo was the perfect sweet ending. It had all the essential elements: shaved ice, colorful jellies, sweet beans, fruits, leche flan, and a scoop of ice cream. It was a refreshing treat, ideal for cooling down on a hot summer day.
I also had calamansi juice, which was refreshingly tangy. It was light, citrusy, and just sweet enough.
Beyond the food, the Filipino ambiance and details like the banana leaf placemats made the experience even more special. Whether you’re new to Filipino cuisine or craving something familiar, this place offers both delicious food and a comforting atmosphere. Highly...
Read moreAs an exchange student, one of the hardest work is sharing my culture. I took my host family here to share and enjoy Filipino foods with, and the restaurant surely made me feel home; as if it is my natural family cooking Filipino foods as we eat here. The crew is so friendly too! I cannot speak fluent Japanese that is why I had a hard time explaining to my host family the food and ingredients, but luckily, Chef explained the Filipino foods so well that my host family enjoyed the foods more. Thank you so much for the accommodation. Wish for the best of this restaurant, and may God Bless it! Maraming salamat po, kababayan!
