Ashok’s Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Ashok Bar has become one of my go-to bars when I visit Fukuoka. The unassuming sign saying "international staff" is an understatement. Ashok, an incredibly kind and hospitable individual and his staff speak speak English, Hini, Nepolise and Japanese and are the friendliest people I have met while traveling. Recently, Ashok has teamed up with an American expat, Kevin, who is now offering a second "Kevin's Kitchen" menu with what me as a Bostonian would consider "Californian Cuisine." So, come hungry because the mix of eastern and western food is to die for. The bar attracts a unique and mixed crowd from all walks of life and countries of origin, and while it is a great second-floor watering hole for those looking for a drink and a snack or two or three, families can often be seen lounging on the couch, enjoying family day. In which case Ashok or one of the other personable staff members will great the little-ones with a balloon or other fun treats to entertain.

Bottom line, I will make it a point to visit Ashok and his crew every time I visit Fukuoka, if not more...
