Bistro CORE — Restaurant in Fukuoka

We are vegetarians and saw this listed as an Italian restaurant and my husband (who does not speak Japanese) got us here. I quickly read (I read and speak Japanese) that this was a Japanese beef and wine bar but we were already inside and seated and I spoke to the chef and explained that we were vegetarians and could he help us. It is a bit embarrassing to go into a beef restaurant and ask to be served as vegetarians, and in fairness to the chef, I don't recommend doing that. But I want to state how utterly artful this man was. He asked about all our dietary restrictions (ovo-lacto vegetarians) and prepared a four course meal for us, each dish perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and utterly delicious. He trained in Tokyo at both Italian and French restaurants and also studied TexMex, so if any of those cuisines are on your list, you can be guaranteed a beautiful experience here. The cost was very reasonable and the ambiance is beautiful. He has a great drinks menu, both alcoholic and with nice mocktails as well, and the food is fresh and has no additives. We were 5 Taiwanese guests on the night of June 3rd, including two girls who arrived late. Highly recommend, the spagetti sauce is amazing and has a unique flavour. Hand-made desserts change your tongue to re-recognize what real desserts are. The joyful atmosphere was reached its peak with a glass of champagne. All the services they did definitely surpass the scores of five-star hotels and high-end restaurants, even language difference, there was no barrier. This night gave us a real fine finner experience.
