First of all, I still didn’t figure out how their line up system works. When we arrive at 430pm, they said the “ticket” for 4pm is not available anymore, asked me to come at 5pm. When I walk around and came at 445pm, I saw people line up by themselves in the park (next to the restaurant) and therefore we did the same. At 5pm, the staff didn’t distribute any tickets, just ask us to line up in front of the restaurant, and invite us to go in when table is available. So I do not know if they have ticket or not, and why do they don’t let people continue to line up at 430 but need to do another queue at 5pm again? And funny thing is, I see no one at all after we finish the meal at around 6sth pm, did everyone purposely come before 6pm only? Anyway, besides the line up system is a bit confusing, the food there was great! Tbh, the rice is not so special, is just a good mentaiko rice. But the noodle is sooooo good! The soup base is so thick, goes so well with the noodle! Highly recommended for those who loves mentaiko!

After reading review, I arrived at 6.40 on Sunday morning. I was shocked when I found 6 queues before me. The staffs are very helpful. After we requested for Eng menu, we was guided to be seated at the 2nd floor. Food order and service were quick. The price is high but I admire their service. I ordered mentaiju but I think the taste was average. BUT...please try before add sauce. I read that I had to add sauce before eating and I found it too salty. My friend ordered mentaiju+tsukemen. The tsukemen was thick and delicious. It was also good to add rice into the soup. My impression goes to the pudding! That's super delicious! Soft and creamy. (It has 45 puddings left when I stepped into the restaurant at 7.10am) I also love the tea serving with the pudding. I think it's red tea. Good smell and no bitterness. Very refreshing. After we left at 8am++, there were 10-20 queues lining up in front of the restaurant.

At the time of ordering take out, the building exterior was under renovation. Checked out this place because of their mentaiko bento. The bento consists of one salted pollock roe on top of a bed of shredded seaweed with rice underneath. We ordered take out because of time constraints, but if you have time then dine-in! It tastes better eating there than taking away. This review is basically for the takeout version. They give you a heads up that the bento have to be eaten within four hours. Since it gotten cold, there was a small kind of fishy aftertaste, but that is not their fault. So it is best to dine in. It was a little pricier than excepted, but you are getting a decent pollock roe. Come here to dine in if possible!

Overall, the signature mentaiju is too salty for me. However, the dipping noodle is very tasty and couldn’t have enough. English menu is available. Instructions: Once you reach, you will be queuing outside and the staff will call you into the counter where you have to pick the level of spicy through the few baskets. Once you are up at the restaurant, the rest is quite standard where you order, they bring you pay at counter with the final bill that is on your table. Food: The lighting in the building is very dim, not good for photos but food wise, it’s average. For me, I learnt I am not that into mentaiko. It’s quite expensive where average spending is around $2800 yen up per person.

The food was amazing and had a glass of wine which made my day 🫢 I would recommend to go here during lunch and the wait was not too long - 10 minutes or less. However, I would say that their customer service could be improved. Their staffs are great but management on teamwork seems to be lacking - when I was asked to be served the staffs and manager was not willing to serve me and requested the busy server who was assigned to our table to serve us - not cool as the manager was standing there and the staffs seemed scared to serve us. Not impressed on customer service although we know it could be stressful to serve foreigners!! But big credit to the waitress assigned to serve our table 🫡

Good vibes at the restaurant. We ordered the set meals with both the Tsukemen and Mentaiko don there. As you arrive at the restaurant, you will get to choose the spiciness of the mentaiko (pollock roe) at the cashier counter. Both the Tsukemen and Mentaiko don were very tasty. Some might find the mentaiko don a bit too salty (especially those who are not that into Mentaiko), but I personally find it very tasty. I would recommend you to taste the don before you add in the soy sauce if you don't like salty stuff. The soup with tofu was very special as well, I would definitely recommend you to get the meal set that includes the soup. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience.
