My wife and I (Americans who speak no Japanese) walked here from the cruise terminal. As long as you study the Google pics of the exterior, it’s not difficult to find. We arrived fifteen minutes before opening, and the friendly servers motioned us to wait outside. They showed us a sign in English to ensure we understood they have no restroom. We gave them a thumbs up. Within 10 minutes the line was 20+ deep. Just before they opened, they came outside to take the orders of those of us in line. There is an English menu. (If you want to pay for napkins, order them as well. Most people brought a pack of tissues.) Shortly thereafter, they invited us in and showed us to our table where pitchers of cold water were already placed. In a few minutes, they brought our orders to us. We’re ramen neophytes but found it to be absolutely delicious! They did not pressure us to rush, but because they only seat 15 people you are not expected to linger after you have finished. When you are ready to pay (cash only) walk to the counter at the back to settle up. We appeared to be the only western tourists there, and they were very welcoming. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a non-touristy,...
Read moreWas a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. But our initial plan for another restaurant fell through and this restaurant was very close so we decided to give it a try. We were so glad that we did!
The restaurant was a little difficult to spot as it looked like any other houses and the door was closed. But we did notice the small blue bucket hanging near the entry which signified that the restaurant is open. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by the staff and owner.
It’s a no-nonsense ramen restaurant serving up quality ramen. The restaurant specialises in tonkotsu ramen featuring the creamiest broth and generous portions of ingredients (pork and wood ear) for a very affordable price. We were surprised at how opaque the soup broth was and how clean it tasted. It is on the fatty side so it is quite very filling.
We both agree is the best tonkotsu ramen we have had to date.
Do give it a try! Highly...

You could easily walk past this discreet restaurant—its entrance shows only a 2019 Michelin sticker and a menu, with no prominent signage. The thick pork bone broth is rich and creamy, perfect for cold weather, though very heavy. According to the chef, you should sip the soup before eating the noodles to appreciate its depth.
Some recommend mixing in curry sauce, but I found it overly filling. While the ramen is good, it’s not a destination bowl—worth trying if you’re nearby, but not worth a special trip. Cash only.
Verdict: A reliable, rich tonkotsu—visit when in the area, but don’t...
