This is a truly impressive green tea cafe, with a warm atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional green tea shop. At the entrance is a beautifully decorated small Japanese garden. Inside, there are three to four tables for two, and about four counter seats. They also have green tea brewing equipment and a wide selection of green teas to choose from. This cafe is ideal for families, couples, and tourists seeking a high-quality green tea experience prepared in a traditional way.
I ordered two items: Shaved Ice with Rich Green Tea (1,650 yen). This shaved ice is served with vanilla ice cream at the bottom of a cup. When the green tea is poured over it and scooped into the vanilla ice cream, it creates a smooth and refreshing taste.
The other item is the green tea. You can choose two types of tea cake. I chose the Yame Matcha (2,420 yen) and paired it with the Matcha Financier and Matcha Dacquoise. Both desserts have a slightly sweet aftertaste, but are not overly sweet. They complement the rich matcha flavor perfectly, perfectly blending the matcha's richness.
Regarding the staff, They provided very friendly service and were attentive, offering detailed instructions on how to eat. Although the wait was a bit long due to the meticulous preparation of each dish, the staff carefully explained the detailed instructions when each dish was served.
To get to the restaurant, I took the Hakozaki Line to Gofukumachi Station and walked for about 300 meters. The restaurant was easy to find. I pinned it on Google Maps and followed the directions. The route was straightforward and...
Read moreWhat a gem of a tea shop! Mitsuyasu Seikaen offers an impressive selection of Japanese green teas, including high-quality sencha, gyokuro, and matcha. Each tea was a treat to explore, and the staff went above and beyond to guide us on how to prepare them perfectly. They taught us so much about ideal brewing temperatures, pouring techniques, and how many times each tea can be reused to capture its full flavor.
The desserts here are a revelation—each one deliciously crafted with tea or matcha, achieving a balance that isn’t too sweet. It’s clear they put a lot of thought into each treat to make sure the tea’s natural flavors shine through.
The welcoming and friendly staff truly made this experience memorable. They genuinely cared about our visit and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and informed. Read moreA wonderful experience at an authentic Japanese-style tea house that offers various tea products for retail and to enjoy in-house. They have English menu :) We tried the green tea-tasting set, which led us through three different ways to taste the tea. There was a selection of desserts for us to pair with the tea. The green tea cake(CHAKAI) was a must-try, and it tasted like cheesecake but had a green tea aroma. I also enjoyed the green tea chocolate and another pairing with a jelly-like texture, which was also great. Despite not being a dessert person, I found everything they offered was perfectly balanced. The service was excellent, and the host used Google Translate to interact and gave us tips to enjoy the...
