Dining at Mengekijou Gen-ei is more than just eating; it's an experience to remember 🌟. Tucked away in Fukuoka, this ramen spot 🍜 stands out with its unique, theater-like setting 🎭. Walking through the iconic wooden door, you're greeted by a scene straight out of a Japanese theatre, with seats all facing the masterful chef 👨‍🍳.

We dove into the soy sauce-based soup ramens 🍲, a delightful twist from the typical Hakata-style. The clear soup was a refreshing change, packed with flavor and absolutely delicious 😋. The noodles had this amazing slippery, slurp-worthy texture that just added to the experience.

The star of the show? The chef's dedication to his craft 🌟. Watching Chef work his magic was like watching a performance. It's clear that every bowl served here is a labor of love ❤️.

Mengekijou Gen-ei isn't just about the food; it's about the moments and memories you create there. This place is a beautiful blend of culinary skill and theatrical presentation 🎉. We're already planning our next visit to this special ramen...

My first visit to Mengekijou Gen-ei was more than 10 years ago, it was my ramen eureka moment. I was really sad when the Tokyo branch closed in 2018. First of all, Gen-ei does not offer Tonkotsu style ramen, it was established with creating the sauce using only natural ingredients only. Their classic version is a shoyu ramen in essence, but the homemade tare was created using high quality ingredients and pack a lunch of flavor. Dandan mien’s home made chili oil added a kick for spicy lovers and the shrimp oil version is rich with savory intensity. Different noddles are used to complement the chosen flavor, most memorable part is the soup, it is a layered magic potion, savory but light, just the right amount of saltiness infused with endless umami. I have had ramen all over Japan and Gen-ei is still my #1...

Mengekijo Genei is a ramen restaurant that imitates a theater designed by a famous architect Mitsuru Kiryu. It is a popular restaurant listed in the 2014 Michelin Guide Fukuoka · Saga.

The open kitchen, which can be viewed from any seat, gives you the feeling of being in the theater.

Fukuoka's main restaurant is Tonkotsu Ramen, but there are also Shoyu(soy sauce) ramen and carrier noodles featuring onion oil and shrimp.

Noodles are homemade in the shop. Seafood soup is used for the soup of tonkotsu ramen, and you can enjoy ramen full of originality.

The recommendation of the store is TKG (egg on rice) which boasts itself as the best in Japan. By the way, Japanese people have no resistance to...
