We went to Japan for our 30th anniversary and this was that special meal we had waited for our whole trip (not to mention this was the most expensive) since it was Michelin rated. We made the reservation way ahead of time. However, this was the most disappointing meal among the whole trip and almost ruined our anniversary celebration mood. We were guided to a side western room of the restaurant, with several long tables in the room, but just us as guests. We felt that we were in the employees' lunch room. Even though we had a very nice lady serving us, our mood was totally ruined when we realized that we were not seated in the main dining section or even in a tatami room. Tell you the truth, I cannot remember what the meal tasted like. Our reservation was made thru the Grand Hyatt and no one told us that we were to be seated in a side room. We paid the full price of the meal which was over U.S. $600 for two. Worst meal we have ever had for a Michelin Rated Restaurant. We did complaint to the Grand Hyatt and suggested that they confirm reservations for the main dining for their future guests so that no one's expensive meals...
