Sushi Suigyo Tenjin — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Recommended by a friend to book this Omasake prior to arriving to Fukuoka - and so glad we did!

We booked the Omasake set that had the most courses as we like to experience each dish, without the all you can drink option. For us the price was reasonable which our meal exclusive of drinks was ¥12,000 per person.

We had an amazing experience. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing.

The chef serving us that night spoke great English and explained each dish.

I’m not a huge fan of raw fish however, I will make an exception for Omasake! There was no dish I could fault - we actually ordered additional pieces after our course had finished too. Every single element was fresh and seasonal. They were served at a great temperature as well.

Overall it was an amazing experience, we were seated at the bar and got to interact with the chef.

This shows places that aren’t social media hyped are the best places to go try.

We had an amazing night and walked home to our hotel with full bellies! If we’re ever back in Fukuoka we would definitely be back.

I had a phenomenal time here, my Japanese is brutal to listen to at best, and this place was extremely accommodating. Walking in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. When speaking with the chef at the bar Akira, who spoke English, it made the experience just that more enhanced. The service was fast and well paced, I always felt like when I was running low on a drink it was topped up before I could realize. If there was a lull between food being served it was filled with excellent banter or a small side dish to eat before the main. To be honest, we ended up there by mistake, and there was no one inside, so we initially wanted to leave. However, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was so pleasant that we decided to stay and grab a quick bite, even though we weren't familiar with the place. It turned out to be an amazing experience. The chefs were fantastic, very kind, and did their best to assist us. I'm not usually a fan of sushi, but I tried some here, and it was incredible.
