We couldn’t resist the chance to recreate the iconic My Neighbour Totoro bus stop scene at Morinokomichi during our visit, and it turned out to be a magical and nostalgic experience for the whole family. The store has its very own life-sized Totoro figure, complete with a red umbrella, kindly provided by the shop to help you bring the famous scene to life. It was a heartwarming and fun moment, especially for fans of the beloved Studio Ghibli movie.
Our kids were absolutely thrilled to stand next to Totoro and pose with the umbrella, just like in the movie. The excitement in their eyes was priceless! As huge Totoro fans, this stop was a dream come true for them. There’s something so charming and whimsical about Morinokomichi, and it perfectly captures the nostalgia and magic of My Neighbour Totoro. The store itself offers a wonderful atmosphere, and even if you’re just stopping by for a quick photo, the experience is one that will stick with you.
Beyond the photo op, Morinokomichi also has a lovely selection of Totoro-themed merchandise and other cute items, making it a great spot for fans to pick up a souvenir or two. The peaceful surroundings and the joy on our kids’ faces as they interacted with Totoro made this visit a highlight of our trip.
For any Totoro fans visiting the area, Morinokomichi is a must-visit destination. Whether you’re reliving childhood memories or introducing your own kids to the magic of Studio Ghibli, this is an experience you won’t...
