Wow! What an experience. We were searching for Anagomeshi, which is well known in Hiroshima, when we stumbled upon this humble restaurant. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They had an English menu for the anagomeshi sets, and as part of their service, they gave us a complimentary sushi each (which was also delicious). The anagomeshi itself was delicious, great conger eel flavour and the additional sauce they give you is sweet and divine. Not to mention, the rice mixed in with the sauce and eel was 10/10! We found this place as one of the recommended food in Hiroshima is anago. The owner was really sweet, gave us free pieces of rice roll. I got the small size rice bowl because I get full quick but it was so delicious that I wish I got the bigger size. I got the aka anago and my husband got the kuro anago. First time in Hiroshima. Google recommended this cozy place, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is operated by the owner (I assume) who doubles as the waiter, maitre'd and cook. All in all it was a pleasant experience sampling the local cuisine. Will probably visit again the next time...
