Poli Kala — Restaurant in Hiroshima

The chef is very clearly Greek and the food reflects that. The seafood looked good, and the chicken souvlaki was the comfort food I was hoping for after wandering in out of the rain. The Greek salad was good, and reasonably portioned, although the olives were normal black olives instead of the Kalamata olives I was expecting. The garlic bread was garlic bread.

The waitress took my order in Japanese, and then immediately wrote it down in English. The menu is actually bilingual and doesn’t read like it was google-translated.

Both people working tonight were friendly and attentive, the music was lively and distinctively Greek, and the food was good, especially for the price and being open without a reservation.

A nice place near the Peace Park. The street is not crowded and the place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. You can also smoke on the front porch.

My wife and I ordered Chicken Juvechi and Chicken & Mushroom Cream Risotto.

The Juvechi was delicious; you can really taste the tomatto, and the rice-like pasta was amazing. The chicken was nicely cooked.

The Risotto was exquisite. You could also taste the garlic incorporated into the risotto, but not too overpowering.

We had dessert of the day, which was Strawberry Mousse. It was pretty good; not too sour and not too sweet.
