Wildman Bagel — Restaurant in Hiroshima

NOT open on Monday even though it is listed as such on Google and their Instagram simply lists "weekday" hours.

We did go back the next day (Tuesday) and they were open even though they also had a sign out that says they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

After having gone to a second shop that same day that was also unexpectedly closed for the day, I believe that some places post a calendar page for the month at their store front, and circle the days they will be closed that month (お休み/おやすみ). This seems very inefficient in a time where the Internet exists. It should be easy to post this on a website or Instagram instead of letting customers ride the bus for an hour to get to your shop, just to find out it is closed that day.

Anyway, the bagels were decent. The ones without filling were fairly dense and dry, so I recommend only getting ones with filling. Not good enough to change my rating though, but I would have given a 3/4 star if not for the...

This is not the bagel sandwich shops back in Canada where the bagels are cut horizontally, toasted, pay extra for cream cheese or butter, and have offerings of cheap soup from a powder packet on the side. These bagels are stuffed of its namesakes, and the whipped cream cheese we purchased because we didn't know better became an unnecessary but nice extra to the chocolate bagel. The smoked cheese bagel has baked crispy cheese on the outside and baked bits of smoked Gouda on the inside. Soy and pepper one was a pleasant surprise as well.
