After I had such a terrible experience at the Comfort Hotel Hakata, I was really nervous about this hotel which I had booked for 3 nights with Choice points. My fears were unfounded.
Check in was seamless. They didn't have a room ready at 11 am but they held my bags for me. When I came back and got my room, the lady who checked me in spoke fantastic English and was so nice--I wish I'd gotten her name.
My room wasn't BIG, but by Japanese standards it was certainly big enough, especially for one person. It was clean, the bed and pillow were fine though certainly quite firm. The bathroom was more than adequate. The wifi worked.
The breakfast in the morning isn't extravagant, but there's plenty of options. I also enjoyed getting some herbal tea in the afternoons when I'd come back from touring.
While this hotel has central controlled A/C or heat, meaning at any one point in time the only thing you can do is either cool the room or heat the room, they sensibly had it set to cooling because otherwise the rooms would be very hot. I suppose this could be an issue if they have it set to cooling and then there is a cold snap or vice versa, so there's some risk here in Spring and Fall perhaps. But in mid April, it worked for me.
I paid 8,000 Choice points a night which is an...

It is served by Dentetsu no 1 tram (Orange) line which runs to/from Hiroshima train station. The tram stop "Chuden-mae" is just 2 min walk from the hotel. We did not explore much about the restaurants available around the area. Our impression was that there were not many restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. ||Amenities: As in many hotels in Japan, the room was small. We managed to get only a very small room with a double bed which was too small for our liking. However the sleeping quality was good. Although the hotel is next to a main road, the noise was not noticable.Coffee/Tea making faculties and a mini fridge are available. Wi-Fi was free and did work well. ||Reception/Service: Reception is at a higher floor. We arrived earlier than the check-in time. The luggage was kept with them at the reception while we were sightseeing before checking in.||Cleanliness: Very good.||Breakfast/Restaurant: Mostly Japanese style with a...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel from 21 to 26 November in room 520. The check-in desk is on the third floor. Check-in and payment are done via a terminal. The room is large, has a desk, wardrobe, fridge and TV. The chair at the desk was replaced because it could not be adjusted. The room is on the street side. You can hear the sound of the traffic. However, it is the trams that pass by that are disturbing. When the fan in the bathroom is turned on it makes a lot of noise, if you turn it off it continues to make noise, although less loud but still clearly audible in the room. The management suggested changing rooms. We did not want to do this. Breakfast is provided with a Japanese buffet with changing items. It is very busy during breakfast. The elevator is the sore point in this hotel. With fourteen floors, two elevators are too few, which means you sometimes have to wait...
