The place is quite small, they only has 5 tables and 4 seats at the counter. It’s family restaurant so it’s very cosy. They have “hydrangea set” for rice and noodles, and there wasnt any hydrangeas in the food ;)) they named it because the temple is famous for hydrangeas. The veggies was fresh but it’s quite plain, since it’s only veggies :))

I ordered the endless summer special set. Outside of the Moon Temple. It’s interesting to see how the flower was made into Japanese meal set. But I hardly taste the flavor of flowers or spotted any blossoms or petals in the meal. Probably in the sauce? The atmosphere is awesome. A nice and warm old couple with their son.

他の方も書かれていますが、蕎麦の汁は薄めというか、出汁の味もかなり薄めで、野菜の味を味わうというコンセプトなんだと思いました。出汁がガツンと効いた蕎麦を食べたい方には合わないと思います。紫陽花セット（1100円）を食べてみましたが、運ばれて来たときの感想は「え！これだけ」と思いました。具が少ないかやくご飯に、小さいお椀に入ったけんちん汁に、タクアン二切れと、おひたしだけ鎌倉という場所柄、仕方ない面もありますが、コストパフォーマンスは悪いかなと思います。お店の構造上しかたないのですが、夏場の店内はとても暑いです。後、トイレが和式で古いので、足腰が弱い方は、事前に何処かで済ませた方が良いと思います。ガイドブックに載るほどの名店らしいですが、個人的には微妙かなと思います。紫陽花セットに関して言うと、出汁巻き卵なり、焼き魚なんかが付けば、値段に見合ったものになると思います。精進料理がコンセプトなら、無理なのかも知れませんが

Sorry for the bad review because the restaurant is quaint and charming and the staff delightful but the food is just bad. A pity. They use nice ingredients but we just don't like soaggy soba... we can only have few meals in Japan and the food is usually amazing so when we have a bad experience it's just very frustrating to feel that we wasted a meal... otherwise the price is good. 800...
