Unexpected surprise finding this small sake restaurant in the area. We just gave it a go & it happened to be the perfect place for dinner! The menu is in Japanese but google translate will help. We were welcomed here as foreigners (some other restaurants in Kanazawa I felt we were not). The bartender was hardworking & busy, suggested sake to our taste & preference, our meals were delicious. Traditional & satisfying, flavors & textures to enjoy. We both had the grilled fish set dinner & it was perfect. The vibe inside is trendy & cozy, like a hometown spot. Seating inside is small, communal & limited, but service was friendly & fast. Food options are limited & pre set, but their sake selections are endless. We were really happy we came upon this spot for dinner! Definitely a top choice to be...
Read moreBest drinks & food place we visited this trip! Introduces various local sakes from Ishikawa province and the staff recommends sakes to pair with your order. Has an option to choose bottomless sakes for 1 hour for a relatively cheap price. Menu items are mostly for pairing with sake so come in small portions, so start with curry rice if you want a larger meal. Menus are only in Japanese so we had to use google translate. Staff speaks some english. Awesome 10/10 drinks, very authentic and local atmosphere (we were the only foreign patrons when we went). Food was also top-notch. Will definitely visit again when we...
Read moreA great spot for lunch, where you can get an excellent set meal (定食) for a reasonable price. The lunch menu has several options, and I went with the fish (さば). It was nicely done and tasty, just know that it is not deboned. The sides were really good too, with rice, miso, vegetables, and pasta. I also tried the onigiri, which were voluminous and tasty. The atmosphere is nice, and it doubles as a bar at night. It’s known for its sake as well, so worth coming just to experience that. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend...
