Unexpected surprise finding this small sake restaurant in the area. We just gave it a go & it happened to be the perfect place for dinner! The menu is in Japanese but google translate will help. We were welcomed here as foreigners (some other restaurants in Kanazawa I felt we were not). The bartender was hardworking & busy, suggested sake to our taste & preference, our meals were delicious. Traditional & satisfying, flavors & textures to enjoy. We both had the grilled fish set dinner & it was perfect. The vibe inside is trendy & cozy, like a hometown spot. Best drinks & food place we visited this trip! Introduces various local sakes from Ishikawa province and the staff recommends sakes to pair with your order. Has an option to choose bottomless sakes for 1 hour for a relatively cheap price. Menu items are mostly for pairing with sake so come in small portions, so start with curry rice if you want a larger meal. Menus are only in Japanese so we had to use google translate. A great spot for lunch, where you can get an excellent set meal (定食) for a reasonable price. The lunch menu has several options, and I went with the fish (さば). It was nicely done and tasty, just know that it is not deboned. The sides were really good too, with rice, miso, vegetables, and pasta. I also tried the onigiri, which were voluminous and tasty.
