Great location, great food and great hospitality! The family was super friendly (the boss speaks some English and is very charismatic). I would definitely recommend sitting at the bar as you can watch the boss and his son make the sashimi and sushi.

Ordering one of the courses. Really easy because they choose what sushi to make for you. It was really helpful as well as the boss and his son explained what each dish/sushi was and how to eat it.

I loved this omakase experience. Everyone at the restaurant was very welcoming, especially to this foreigner that had been turned away from 4 different restaurants for lacking a reservation. Going to dinner in Japan is like going to someone's home, so it can be intimidating without proper planning, but everyone was so kind and make me feel very comfortable. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience with an unbeatable price, head to the Higashi Chaya District of Kanazawa, and right across the bridge on the river, you'll find Sushi Takashima. Every dish we had was joyfully created, every flavor exquisite, and every texture, intentional. The plum sake was rich and sweet, a perfect accompaniment to the meal.
