Gallery & Cafe Muku — Restaurant in Kanazawa

This is a quiet, comfortable cafe, gallery, and vinyl record store where you can relax and enjoy refreshments.

It’s about a 7-minute walk from the Center of Higashi Chaya area, but it’s on the main road and easy to get to.

The front is full of ceramics, crafts jewellery, and other artistic items for sale from local artists. Very beautiful and curated collection. Much more genuine than the ones for sale at every other souvenir store.

They also have a wall full of Western and Japanese vinyl records. Surprisingly a lot of hip hop, soul, and other American artists.

I say suprising because the owner (I assume) is an ojisan and obasan! They are both kind and attentive.

There is seating for about 5-6 groups, you must take off your shoes and go up two steps.

The menu is limited, but very good. The cake set is about ¥800 for your choice of drink and chocolate or cheesecake.

Their speciality is imported Dalat Vietnamese coffee and special Taiwan black tea. They also have iced coffee, a coffee blend, and a selection of fruit teas.

Spend time freely in this relaxing, artistic cafe. Walk home with a new music record or authentic Kanazawa pottery. They take card, but bring cash in case their machine...
