Went to Nodus for lunch and I will start by saying the food was fresh- pasta was good, fresh salad and bread, cold creamy sweet potato soup (not for me), and coffee at the end. It was a nice warm meal on a rainy day when everything else was closed for the afternoon. That being said, it was a very awkward interaction. The restaurant is in a house where the bottom is converted into a restaurant. So when we walked in, there was a small entry way and then a couple of stairs up into the main area with different flooring. We immediately took our shoes off, as you would when entering one of the many temples or when entering someones home. Wrong! Don't do that! They were annoyed with us and got upset but we couldn't understand what was wrong due to the language barrier. No welcome or hello. We honestly were just trying our best to be respectful and did not mean to offend. After we put our shoes back on we kinda just felt like a huge inconvenience the whole time. We were the only ones there, and it kinda just felt like they wanted us to leave (even though we went during their business hours). We asked about a menu item we saw on their website and she seemed annoyed because it was for dinner only apparently. It ended ok and the food was pretty good but we felt incredibly uncomfortable...

The woman serving us was kind and unobtrusive. Food was hot, prompt, and quite delicious. Portion sizes were just right. We would absolutely come again.
