I'm an English-speaking local guide here in Kanazawa. Personally I often eat out in the city centre of Kanazawa, where there are hundreds of lovely restaurants. I thought I knew lots of eateries, however I didn't know about this one. Tenkane (天金) is a tempura restaurant located near the Higashi Chaya Teahouse District. The restaurant is owned and run by Kinjoro (金城楼), a renowned Ryokan, and it's on the premises of the Ryokan. Everything was perfect!✨ Taste, ambience, lush garden, tableware and hospitality. It's also perfect cost-wisely. It's only 6,000yen😲
The chef is kind of a romantic poet, and he picks up one haiku (俳句), a type of Japanese short poems, for each guest. A slip of paper on which the poet, which is handwritten by the chef, garnishes the plate of the first dish.
