This is an awesome place for sushi. Seafood is fresh and we get so many varieties of fish and other seafood including oyster, crab, scallop, shrimp, prawn, octopus, squid and shellfish. Menu is simple. Set A & B is priced at 2,750 yen & 3,520 yen for 30 pieces. Set C is 4,000 yen consisting of 40 pieces of sushi. I ordered the set A while hubby ordered the set B. The difference between set A & B is that set B gets an additional toro which my husband says is exquisite as it is super creamy, fine and practically melts in the mouth.
As you devour the pieces, Chef puts on the heliconia leaf that serves as your plate, you watch the Chef prepare the next items. Without chopsticks. No wasabi. Eating like this, you’d enjoy it more. Well-paced and entertained by a Japanese who speaks no English. Somehow the language of food is Universal. A few utterances, finger pointing/gestures. We all understood each other well enough. After an hour or so, the 30 pieces he promised ... all seems to be magically gone. Happily settled inside your once-hungry belly.
The place is small with space for about 8 people. The sushi is placed on a heliconia leaf and we eat with our hands. At the counter where we sit, we could wash our hands under steady...

There are three menus: A kosu, B kosu (with fatty tuna and eel, the one we had) and C kosu (also a surprise course but we didn't understand what it contains) all with 26 pieces and all the fish chosen by the chef, that will leave your belly plenty full of nigiris and satisfied + welcome free green tea!
The restaurant is managed by an old but incredibly kind couple. The chef very kindly explained some of the fish we didn't know. We hope to come back...
Read moreWe went after the high reviews and since we speak limited Japanese went with a set (B). The sushi pieces were fresh and large, however it wasn't 30 unique pieces (I don't know if it said that it wasn't) but I thought for the price it should be. At the end of the meal we were given a cider for the road.
No chopsticks and the bar you sit at had a cool water feature to rinse your fingers (since you eat with them). Never seen that before. Was a unique dining experience for us, but would probably stick to trying to translate the a la carte menu if I was to provide any advice to...
