兼六園直近という中心部にありながら、無料駐車場を備えた参拝しやすい神社です。 車で直接道路から一の鳥居をくぐって境内に入れます。無料の「参拝者駐車場」になっています。鳥居に隣接して有料駐車場もありますが、参拝するなら鳥居をくぐりましょう。

二の鳥居の手前に大きな「大東亜聖戦大碑」が建っているので、思想的に気になる方もいるかもしれませんが、右翼の人がたくさんいるとか、そういう場所ではありません。 いつも比較的空いていて静かで、参拝の雰囲気としてはとても良いです。 全国各都道府県にある「護国神社」の一つです。明治以来の戦没者が祀られています。

社務所内には祀られている方々の顔写真が「金沢市」などの地域別にズラーっと壁一面を埋め尽くして展示されています。また「遺品展示室」があり、様々な品物や手紙等があります。この社務所に入ると戦争が身近に感じられ、身が引き締まる思いです。 参拝されたら社務所内に寄るのもおすすめです。もしかしたら、縁のある方のお写真があるかもしれませんね。 無料で観覧できます。 こういった場所は石川県にはあまり無い...
