There are only a handful of places in Kawagoe that I consider to truly be must-visits and I am happy to add this phenomenal curry place to that list.

Despite being a stone's throw away from one of Kawagoe's busiest locations, this place exudes an alluring air of tranquility. Stepping inside, you will find a small, cozy place with a "rustic" interior. Before you've even had a chance to sit down, you are ever so sweetly bombarded by the most delightful aroma of spices, preparing your senses for the wonders that await.

The menu itself is not very big, with most choices simply being the protein accompanying the curry. I decided to go with the meat combo, which comes with rice and a salad. From the smell of spices, I was already anticipating that my taste buds were in for a treat, but I never really imagined that my eyes would be treated to such a feast. The presentation, not only for a curry dish, but for food in general, was impeccable and truly stunning. Everything was placed so delicately. Not only was it well organized, but the tableware helped to accentuate the experience further by providing both a contrast in colors and textures.

It was time to taste the curry. One spoonful and I was drowning in the most intricate and complex of flavors. I had ordered the spiciest level, 4, and with it came a delectable kick and a surprising amount of heat. What was most impressive was that the addition of the extra spice did not interfere in any way with the other flavors. On the contrary, the spiciness accentuated the sweet flavor profiles of the curry in such a way as to create a unique harmony of sweet and spicy on the palate. This was truly an amazing bowl of curry and it is easily my favorite. Everything else on the plate, from the rice, to the vegetables, to the chicken was simply delightful. On their own they tasted great, with the curry they tasted remarkable.

Not a single thing about this dining experience disappointed. I cannot highly recommend this curry restaurant enough and I cannot wait to go back.

We just got chai from here to take out, and she said that I know it’s cold but you have to wait outside. So we had to wait for them making chais for 10 mins or so. There are some available tables and chairs. No way to come back here even if the curry is tasty, no hospitality. And the chai tastes...
