3 stars is generous for a pricey place like this. The errors are, however, easily correctable if they choose to do so.

I'll start with the smallest drawback. That is, the toilet room. It could at least do with a fresh paint job. The walls look quite neglected. The lack of a washlet also makes me think the shop is not owned by a regular Japanese person, along with two other points.

There is no flavor profile description about the various teas inside the menu. It would be nice if there were such descriptions.

Last, and funniest of all. When serving a pot of tea, any tea shop worth its salt should make sure to do 1 of 2 things. Either prepare an appropriate brew of tea before serving it in a teapot OR give the customer the option of brewing the leaves later by separating hot water in a flask. (The latter is very common in Japan.) What you should absolutely never do is have loose leaf tea still brewing in the tea pot the whole time. The little egg timer they give alongside the teapot makes this situation especially laughable, as if they have no idea about the concept of a teapot which allows a person to drink a second cup of tea a while later. This would only make sense if the teapot were for 2 people and not 1 person as it was in my case.

For my part, I quickly requested an additional tea cup which I was granted as if I were the first solo customer to have ever had the sense to make such a request. I was able to rescue my tea that way. I find it impossible to believe that many customers would - or even could - prefer the taste of extremely over-brewed, bitter tea on their second helping. Either they are too polite to raise it with the shop staff or they simply do not know better (possibly the latter, as the shop is located in a quite touristy part of Kawagoe).

I hope the cafe takes my comments on board and acts upon them quickly, as each one is very easy to resolve. If they did, maybe I could recommend it. But at these high...

A classic store specialize in tea, we ordered a cup of floating mike tea and a today special set which includes a dessert and a beverage of either tea or coffee, we chose ice black tea by the way. Strong recommend to order the floating milk tea, you will like the creamy and thick milk flavor brewed with fine tea.

As for the set we got a tea brewed set with hour glass, milk, sugar, pot of hot water, black tea and a full cap of ice! Really enjoy to have self-brewed tea here with dessert, the sweet potato cheese tart with chocolate ice cream which is also good but...
