This is a simple ancient Jodo temple built in the 16th century. Although it is not spectacular, it is rich in history in terms of the 3 founding priests. We visited Kawagoe in Spring and was extra blessed to have been able to view this historical site in all it's beauty. The sakura trees were in full bloom and added an extra ancient Japanese charm to the place....

This temple is located right across Kawagoe Kumano Shrine. It is said that touching or rubbing the red statue of Nun Renkei will help cure an illness.

It is a solemn place visited by only a few people, so I recommend dropping by if you have spare time. It is a few walks away from crowded tourist spots and a one bus ride from Kawagoe station or Hon...
