Personally nothing to shout about this "dori" or street consisting sparing row of old edo period shops / houses or restaurants, the latter catering mostly for tourist. And yes, don't forget to visit Kawagoe famous 16th century " “Bell of Time" or toki-no-kane"...

Great day trip away from Tokyo. Kawagoe really earned the name “Little Edo”, because you truly get a feeling of life back in feudal Japan! All of the local shops, restaurants, and vendors go out of the way to being authentic...
