Kobe Beef TANRYU Ikuta Shindo Store — Restaurant in Kobe

My husband and I went to Kōbe just to try for the first time Kōbe Steak. We didn’t plan it on advance, we were in another city near by, and we found out that is difficult to have place in a good Kōbe Steak restaurant without reservation! We were following a list on internet with some restaurants with good reviews but they were all full. This restaurant had only one review but it was very good so we decided to give it a try. We had the restaurant only for us for a few minutes and never got full house. We don’t know why because the restaurant is great! (Maybe because looks more for tourist?!) Comfortable, nice decoration, super friendly staff and, of corse, amazing meat! It was the first time to try Kōbe meat but is the best meat we ever ate. Lower prices 120gr around 7500. We also tried garlic fried rice (with small pieces of meat, very very good! We had 2 different kind of premium Kōbe Steak, 1 bowl of white rice, 1 big bowl of garlic fried rice, 1 beer and 1 cola = 24000 yen. Thank you again to the...

My brother, who studies at Kobe University, took us to this restaurant when my family and I visited him. There were 6 of us, and each pair went for whatever they preferred.

The restaurant from the outside didn’t exactly catch the eye, particularly with so many other restaurants all around the area, but having been to Japan many times, I know never to judge a book by its cover. The atmosphere of the place is great, very Japanese-minimalist with just the right amount of detail and the great dragon on the wall certainly gives a fierce feel to the dining area.

My husband and I chose to have various cuts of the Premium Kobe beef, which were absolutely divine. Some cuts truly melted in our mouth, very rich indeed. The vegetables and wine prepare by the chef accompanying the beef were delicious as well.

If one can weather the price of such a meal, I would certainly recommend trying out the authentic taste of Kobe at...

DO NOT VISIT, not worth the price,felt cheated. Paid ¥28080 for 180g sirloin & 120g normal.

Head chef kept upselling most expensive cut, Chateaubrand priced at ¥32000 for 180g. When we did not order that, he tried to upsell the beef sushi. When we did not, he changed attitude, and assigned a junior chef to serve us instead. Junior chef obviously lacked exp and handled our beef poorly. There was no melt-in-the-mouth texture at all! From Isetan supermarket, we could have easily gotten twice the meat amount with better quality

For $300 ($150/pax), this is a total RIP-OFF! The only thing this shop does is to display their so-called award winning plaques to publicise themselves, really a turnoff.

Again, I plead anyone reading this post to BOYCOTT this place.
