We stopped in Kobe specifically to try A5 Kobe beef, and WOW I did not know beef could taste so good! We had a lunch special that included appetizers, a salad, A5 Kobe beef, soup, tea and a dessert. For what we got, I definitely think it was a great value. It was our favorite meal in Japan by far, because it wasn't just good food, but an experience with having such a skilled chef preparing the food in front of you. The atmosphere of the restaurant was elegant but welcoming, very much the feel of a high end establishment without an intimidating atmosphere. All of the staff, from the greater to the chef were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience much more pleasant. We also had a wonderful conversation with two regulars, a lady and her mother. They were super friendly and very happy to see tourists enjoying one of their favorite meals. We highly recommend this to anyone wanting to try Kobe beef while exploring this beautiful...

I would highly recommend this restaurant for an unique - I had never experienced a restaurant that fried a prawn head and made garlic chips right in front of you - and authentic kobe A5 beef teppan-yaki meal. Although my family and I feel kobe beef itself does not live up to the hype, the experience provided by this restaurant exceeded our expectations and we left with happy stomachs. As with any kobe dinner, this dinner made New York steakhouse dinners (i.e. Peter Luger) seem cheap - expect to pay upwards of 100 USD for a little less than 5 ounces of meat. We arrived without a reservation at 5 pm on a weekday and was seated immediately. We arrived with the notion that other foreigners, such as ourselves, would be the restaurant’s only guests and that we were eating an outrageous meal only tourists would; however, we were delighted to find that the other two parties were in fact locals. Overall,...

Super pleasant experience. Yes Kobe beef is not cheap, however in this place, we are the only foreigners, rest are all locals, means it's a really good sign of the reputation of the place.

Nice ambient, above their butcher shop, servers were really polite and smiling all the way.

Of chef is really professional, we wanted our beef done medium, then we ask for his recommendation and he suggested medium rare which we decided on. Best decision ever. Sirloin melts, tenderloin so smooth and bursting with beef flavour. Best up we were served 2 pieces each turn to keep our meet warm and at the best consumption temperature. Super professional chef.

Ending with theost fragrant fried rice with beef fat, each mouthful is ever satisfying. Strawberry ice cream nicely cleanse our tongue and we're very so very full after the meal.

Fully recommend this place for the Kobe beef seekers out...

🔥 15 Must-Know Tips for a 5-Day Osaka Trip in October!

【7-Day Kansai Itinerary: Kobe & Himeji Edition】 After spending two days in Kyoto, I set off from Kyoto Station to Kobe. At Kyoto Station, I stumbled upon a Picasso print exhibition. The station's upper floors house Isetan, where there's also an art gallery, making it super convenient. 【Highlight】 Eat - If you have time, definitely try Kobe beef. It's totally worth it! Play - Rokko Mountain is highly recommended. Also, check out various museums and exhibitions in advance. I recommend the iMuseum app, which shows global exhibition info. 【Day 4: Kobe - The Mecca of Wagyu 🐂】 When planning my Kansai trip, I wondered if the Kobe beef I'd eat here would be different from the "Kobe beef" sold in Tokyo. Turns out, it really is! The same quality meat costs almost twice as much! If you have enough time, I highly recommend trying local Kobe beef here. You can find specific restaurants on the Japan Wagyu Certification Association's website. I went to【Kobe Kikusui Sannomiya】, where it's around 1000 RMB per person. Address: 2F, Kingston Building, 1-20-13 Kitanagasadori, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo 650-0012, Japan. The place is small; the first floor sells fresh wagyu, and the second floor offers wagyu teppanyaki. Seats are limited, so make a reservation in advance. The food was so good, and the chef was so cute that I didn't even touch my phone the whole time... 【Day 5: Rokko Mountain & Kobe Port Cruise 🚢】 On the second day in Kobe, I headed to Rokko Mountain. I loved the little mountain trains in Japan. I thought it would be a tough hike, but the top is like a theme park with all facilities in place. After getting off the train, staff handed out travel brochures. There are 7-8 spots on the mountain, each with a bus stop. Each spot has a stamp station, and collecting all stamps can get you a small gift. I recommend visiting the Alpine Botanical Garden and the observatory, both with great views of Kobe Port and various art installations. There's also a large family amusement area where many locals bring their kids. In the evening, I booked a dinner cruise at Kobe Port. That night had Halloween activities, and I saw many proposals and couples celebrating birthdays. It seemed like a popular spot for young people in Kobe to propose. 【Day 6: Himeji Castle & Back to Osaka】 Japan's best-preserved wooden castle 🏯 and its first World Heritage site. The entire Himeji city is clean and comfortable. I met a family of Chow Chows and a Ninja-themed eel rice restaurant, both super cute. That night, I returned to Osaka and recommend visiting the Umeda Sky Building for夜景 and trying the famous Osaka-style okonomiyaki. So satisfying! 【Day 7】 Back to Beijing from Kansai Airport. The duty-free shop at Kansai Airport is great for buying Tom Ford, with many popular shades available. That's it for my Kansai guide! Overall, Tokyo is better for shopping and eating, while Kansai is better for sightseeing and cultural experiences. Hope this helps you have a great trip!
