This restaurant is seriously underrated. They have an on staff wine sommelier, three chefs who focus on their specific dishes, and a very intimate ambiance. The Kobe beef was phenomenal and larger proportions than I expected- much better than another highly rated restaurant I went to the same day for lunch. The dishes were balanced and came together really well. The onion soup and the asparagus/squid were standouts for me. I was getting goosebumps while eating it. The Kobe beef was the winner of the night for sure. You just can’t go wrong with Kobe beef on charcoal. If you’re American like me- make sure you don’t forget to add extra salt and pepper for that extra oomph!
The staff were so welcoming and talkative- even though English isn’t their first language, I really appreciated the effort on their part. Truly a standout experience for me. Will be coming back again someday I hope!

Read moreWe showed up without a reservation on a Monday night and they were able to accommodate us. We had to wait a little bit but they were so helpful that they actually recommended and walked us down the street to a nearby bar where we had an awesome drink beforehand. On our return, we had the greatest steak dinner that I've ever experienced. I have had the good fortune to eat steak in Argentinan, some of the nicer steakhouses in Vegas and New York, as well as other cities. This surpassed them all. The chef was gracious and took time to speak with us through out the meal, the sommelier provided top notch wine pairings and our serverer attended to our every need without being intrusive. Would recommend this experience over the tapenaki houses, although they are good as well. We had the set menu and again best steak I have ever experienced. The other the dishes that formed the balance of the set menu were equally refined and delicious. Foie gras was a hit as well as the pate, and squid, it...
Read moreStylish charcoal grill restaurant. Exit REM Plus Kobe Sannomiya Hotel in front of Sannomiya Station, cross the pedestrian crossing from the station square, and walk down Flower Road to the mountain side. After passing Tajima Bank and a bus stop, you will see 7-Eleven ahead. Turn left at the corner in front of 7-Eleven, walk a little and you will see a sign on your right. After passing the entrance to the building, you will find the restaurant like a hideaway next to Edomae Sushi. The restaurant has a counter, table seating, and private rooms. An original charcoal griller can be seen behind the counter. The restaurant is also open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday, but at night the soft lighting reminiscent of an adult lounge adds to the atmosphere. Away from the hustle and bustle in front of the station, this is a restaurant where you can spend a relaxing time. Enjoy the char-grilled Kobe beef and other brand-name beef and wine to your...
