Let's start off by saying that this place must have been awesome 30 years ago! Unfortunately this hotel is stuck in the past and is badly in need of a remodel! It is simply worn out and calling it tired is an understatement!||||We stayed here in September 2018 and out of 10 hotels we visited in Japan this one ranked dead last! What a shame!||||Our room was in the Tower portion of the hotel! I kid you not when I say that every single wall had markings, every single carpet was stained and dirty! Our room was very big However it was dated and in poor condition! The furnishings were damaged and sagging, door frames were coming off the walls, the washroom was from another era!||||This hotel is not English friendly. Although some staff were able to speak some english none of the signs, papers or menu options are in english. Everything that is written in Japanese seems to be translated to Chinese however very little was also translated in english. One example I can give was that every meal at the buffet was written in Japanese and Chinese but maybe 1 out of 5 also had an english translation. Another example, the onsen provided many products that you could use which were all written in Japanese and had a sticker with a Chinese translation but absolutly zero english to be found anywhere.||||There are positives to this resort. There are many things to do here as the resort has a large pool, public onsen, bowling ally, arcades, ping pong etc. There is also a free shuttle to the center of town. Free parking is available for guests and there are 2 large buffets. One is a mix of western and chinese cuisine while the other is more of a Japanese buffet. The buffet was expensive but the quality was acceptable. I quite enjoyed the onsen at this location, the water here was not the clear type and had a stronger smell which is typical of this area.||||We would not return or recommend the Hotel Village! If we ever return to this area will will spend a little more to get a much better room and...

Read moreThe bath tube was dirty. Found hair inside and signs of bad washing. So I gave up to use it on first night. I showed the pics to the front. They wanted to send someone to check but my wife was resting so I took the pics. It was château building. Viking diner menu has good dish but steak wasn’t good. Sushi and sashimi taste bad or nothing... I wanted not to eat them but it is impolite. So protein product like meat is missing, I meant amount and quality. Dessert a are small, very small, and just so so. Same ones for 2 days... Don’t do that please... Breakfast is ok. Croissant ok. Overall it’s a hold hotel. I feel they should change some parts as it does not feel good for the eyes ( pull shower cabines, air system in the room bath tub was rusty and crumbling. ) The much was à la carte and was ok though, but I feel it’s expensive and that s not fair when you know you a low quality food for diner( Viking ) I wished the manager had heard for the dirty bath tube and did offer discount instead of an apologize from front and clercs . I don’t why it get 4* rating... Overall I wish it was a better quality experience, even a little better. Not asking for 3* quality. And the Game Center ,on third day had the Mario kart video game arcade crashed... that was the only thing he was excited to play with... so offer again isnt as expected. chose well your food is my advice and but don’t chose raw fish, as a Japanese Obachan didn’t eat her sashimi... how come... a bit...
