I recently had the most incredible dining experience at a hidden gem in Kyoto that surpassed even Michelin-starred restaurants! This place not only offers spectacular flavours but also has a wide array of fantastic vegan options that truly impressed me.

The restaurant serves homemade dishes with a level of care and attention that is truly heart-warming. The service is incredibly considerate, making you feel like a cherished guest from the moment you step in.

I came across this cafe while on a search for a late lunch, and we were so lucky to have found it. At around 2 pm on a Thursday, there were no other customers but the atmosphere was still very pleasantly peaceful. The cafe owner was so kind to all of us, explaining the lunch set and accommodating for our needs. Not only was the lunch set beautiful, but it was most definitely nutritious and delicious—you can tell all the vegetables were locally grown and as fresh as they can be. The lunch set consisted of a savory assortment of various dishes, including a soup, rice and vegetable dish, and a salad, as well as a dessert tray of three different sweets and a drink. It’s so difficult to find places that are vegetarian friendly in Japan so I was really happy to be given a vegan set menu here! All the food was very fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented too. It’s really wonderful that the owner put so much effort and care into their veggie dishes and not just the fish/meat dishes too!

The atmosphere of the cafe is very calm and relaxed and is in a beautiful area too. The only thing I would mention is that it takes a while for the food to arrive so be sure to make some time for it because it’s 100%...
