2D TEAROOM BAW — Restaurant in Kyoto

An absolutely beautiful tea room tucked away upstairs mid way through the nishiki market. We discovered it by chance. So glad we decided to go here as it was delicious! We were greeted immediately by staff who were very helpful and kind.

We sat down and ordered within a few minutes. The food and drinks took around ten minutes. The food was so fresh and tasty. We all enjoyed what we ordered and tried a bit of each other's food. The place itself was so exciting and fun to look at.

There are two toilets based at the back of the room. You can buy souvenirs in the store. The menu was large and boasted many exciting flavours. Staff were very lovely and helpful.

This place is incredible. It’s rather unassuming from the ground level but once you go up the staircase you will be amazed by the decor. The space is so well decorated that you feel like you stepped into another world from the rest of Nishiki Market. We got the chocolate and honey waffles and while the chocolate was great, the honey was exceptional and was one of the best bites of our Japan trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Fun and unique 2D Café experience! This place is such a cool find — the whole interior looks like you’ve stepped into a sketchbook or comic strip. The attention to detail in the black-and-white design is amazing, and it makes for great photos. The drinks and desserts were tasty and beautifully presented. The only small downside was that it got a bit crowded, so the atmosphere wasn’t as relaxing as I hoped. Still, it’s a creative and memorable spot that’s absolutely worth visiting...
