BEER PUB ICHI-YA — Restaurant in Kyoto

We saw that there were many reservations open online when we were walking around after having spotted this beer pub the other night so we decided to walk by to try some Japanese beer. Upon walking in, there were two empty areas that had “reserved” on them and two that had nothing (presumably for the open reservation spots that we saw online). A man came up and without even asking if we had a reservation, turned us away just saying “full full”. I asked about the empty spaces that had no one seating at them and no reservation marker on them and was told that we could sit outside if we wanted. Good taproom for Japan as brewing scene is today. Small room, decent beers, nice food (from oden-ya next door possibly, but I'd kill for oden at a Seattle or Portland brewery!). Def pulling for them to keep brewing and looking forward, being progressive. Brewery name is Ichijo-ya. I will come back. Getting "tired" of nisemono Spring Valley (aka Kirin--they absolutely need to up their game more--and aim with their deep pockets to stretch and lead the Japanese palate to the deeply respected distant shores it needs to go). In other words: Spring Valley is here in Kyoto, but I ain't going.i'd come here to Ichijo-ya first easily!...

There’s no one I entered the pub at that time(around 8:30) and I was wondering why there was no customers. She said that there’s long weekend just before that is why. The pub has several beers on tap brewed by their own.(which is also got prizes from beer awards) Frankly said that some were good and some were not unfortunately. But I’ve spent pleasure time there. Two of workers are super kind and friendly, and one of them are drew all of the chalk board. I was buzzard by her job. kkk. If I stayed longer, I’d definitely go there...
