This is the true epitome of how Japanese curry should be. It's a no frills fast food kind of joint that serves curry at a reasonable price. Also there's English menu available for tourists so don't worry about the communication. For the manga enthusiasts, there's even a manga library right smack at the corner, so knock yourself out.
The curry is straightforward, just choose what you want and the level of spiciness. It's different from an Indian or Malay curry of course but it doesn't mean it's not hot. You can also add on items to your dish, most of the add ons like the cream croquette only go for 140 yen per piece so knock yourself out. The curry was super delish and rice was fluffy and went well with the curry.
The service staff were super accomodating and helpful, just with any staff in Japan. Makes the whole experience so pleasant. Would come back...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely food. This place was on my itinerary as I am a vegetarian and my Husband eats meat, so this place is perfect for both of us.
You can either choose something from the menu or you can choose the toppings you want along with the spice level and sweet level. We went for the Regular Spice and added 2 spoons of sweet, this turned out still spicier than we would have though so we were glad for the free water on our table. It wasn't overally spicy that we didn't enjoy it though! It was extremely tasty.
I went for the vegetable curry with half spinach, half mushrooms and half eggplant.
There is an English menu as well and the staff were very helpful.
The table was clean and it is a really good price as well! We will definitely be dining at Coco's again, we felt very full afterwards which was a nice change and kept us fueled up for the...
Read moreThis place is amazing. I love curry and the matter of being able to customize it to your liking is wonderful. I tried the beef curry with chicken katsu and i would HIGHLY recommend. I eat a lot of spicy food and have done ghost pepper wings. I got the level 5 spicy and i would warn people that is not a joke. My girlfriend got level 2 spicy and it seemed about appropriate for the average American that isn't a spice-freak. The portion size is large, and wonderful. I eat more than the average full grown man and I was content from just the base serving. If I was hungry I would add 1 serving of rice, or 2 if i was truly starving. I don't know who could do the maximum 5 servings. This restaurant is vegetarian friendly! I will be eating here every...
