Chang-Noi — Restaurant in Kyoto

Lovely from start to finish. I came in around 20:00 on a Friday and I did not have to wait at all. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and gave me the table that I wanted to sit at. The decor was very nice, and while there were other people in the restaurant, it was still very quiet with some nice music playing, and overall a very calming atmosphere. I ordered one of the weekday dinner sets and I did not wait long. The meal came and it was absolutely delicious. The curry was not spicy, which was a bit surprising for a Thai place but they had spice on the table that I could add. It was super flavorful and every piece of the meal was delicious. I ate every bite. I also found the prices to be quite reasonable and it looked like they had a nice liquor menu although I did not get any drink this time. I look forward to my next visit. What a thoroughly dissatisfying experience. Stars for ambience and AC in the summer. The food is another story.

I came here because they had moo krob on their website’s menu. Inaccurate. So I had the krapao moo lunch set. It came with bell peppers (🙄) and no fried egg (🫥). No seasoned wok flavor, no spice level options. It was sweet. The side dishes it came with were forgettable. And the food took 20 mins. to arrive.

All in all, such an embarrassing attempt at Thai food, that I went to the Lawson across the street to wash away the disappointment and after taste with ice cream. Totally...

First, one of the wait staff seemed to be very impatient about our order, even though there were only two other customers in the restaurant.
