I had to walk more than 15 mins from my hotel to get there and began to wonder if it would be worth the effort. It turned out to have made every bit of my effort worthwhile. The coffee was so superb that I ended up going there twice during my stay. I think drip coffee is their specialty. I tried Take it Easy and Really Good Luck. Both were complex and flavorful coffees whose flavors evolved as you drink it. I liked them so much that I ended up getting a drip coffee set. So I was back in Kyoto a month later and went again. The coffee was again superb. I had Take it Easy and tried Ave Maria. Both were fantastic, although I think I prefer the former. This time the owner Masaki-san has hired Akiko-san who speaks English very well to interact with foreign customers. I learned a lot about the shop from her. So they have started to offer a coffee tour which showcases the roasting process and the hand dripping process. I didn't get a chance to join because I will be gone by the time the next tour is offered. I will try to join next time I am in Kyoto. It's great to see that the owner is making more effort to engage foreign customers. I hope more people will discover this gem of a coffee shop. The coffee really is superb.

A new coffeeshop in the area that sells its own blends / brands of medium-dark roast coffee beans, drip coffee, and espresso. If you ask for details the staff know about the beans used, the flavors, etc. They are meticulous about how they prepare drip coffee, measuring amounts and temperature. The staff are super friendly as well. They even let me in before they officially opened. Another point I appreciated was the use of cardboard lids for their to go coffee—not plastic.

I recommend stopping by for a delightful cup of coffee! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful when it comes to selecting a coffee that perfectly suits your taste preferences. Whether you're a fan of bold, robust flavours or prefer something more delicate and nuanced, they have you covered. Don't miss the opportunity to experience their exceptional service!

Absolutely stellar experience at Dunstan Coffee Roasters! As a dedicated coffee aficionado, I’ve scoured far and wide for that perfect espresso, and I’m thrilled to say, I’ve found it here. Their attention to detail in the extraction process is commendable, resulting in an espresso that’s not just a drink, but a symphony of flavors. And their expertise extends beyond espresso; their drip coffee is equally exceptional, showcasing the depth and complexity of their carefully sourced beans. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warmth and knowledge, making every visit a true delight. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the artistry and craft of coffee. Dunstan Coffee Roasters has truly set the bar high for coffee aficionados like myself. I’ll definitely be...
