Ordered the signature freshly made hot matcha warabi mochi and the seasonal houjicha and chestnut creme brulee. The creme brulee was shallow and the caramelized sugar layer was quite thick so it was too sweet and not well balanced. The houjicha ice cream and the bits of chestnut baked on top was tasty though. The warabi mochi was warm and viscous, texture was quite satisfying to eat. It has a deep earthy matcha essence and relies on the condiments for flavor and sweetness which includes kinako (roast soybean powder) and kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup). Enjoyed the nutty flavor of the kinako but this particular kuromitsu was too deep and rich for my liking. While their Warabi Mochi was the reason most people visit here, we found their craft beer (Matcha IPA) to be an equally novel discovery. The dry and bitter beer came with complimentary crunchy savoury snacks, which combined well as tasting contrasts to the typically sweet, sticky and chewy desserts.

While most items on the dessert menu were made of similar base ingredients (rice flour, matcha, and red bean paste), we suggest taking advantage of a variety of textures that different dishes had to offer. It was most enjoyable when our desserts comprised of a little bit of everything: some hot matcha warabi mochi, some shaved ice, some ice cream, and some warabi mochi milkshake.

We came here after our trip from Osaka; in osaka we had tried 4 different locations for the Macha icecream, but non were tasty. Finally while we were passing by this location I saw the store. We decided to come in before reading the reviews, which i am so glad we just walked in without considering the reviews. The reviews does not do justice to this amazing location. We ordered three different deserts and one soup. We all were please with everything we ordered. The way it was presented and the way it tasted. Strong matcha taste, perfect mochi consistency, and just right sweetness. As far as the soup goes, my daughter wanted to order a second bowl because she loved it so much. We are looking forward coming back here again within...
