Absolutely brilliant food, and the best we had in Kyoto. Cozy little shop run by a single great guy, went there as a pretty large group (felt a bit bad for giving him so much to do at once) but the wait wasn't anywhere near unreasonable and we were impressed by how quickly he prepared our food.
The standout dish was the ginger pork rice bowl, ordered it several times and was always blown away, plus the tempura was also great. And on top of that, everything was very reasonably priced, with a full meal set and beer costing somewhere in the ballpark of 1,500 yen.
